Lisa has always had a deep love for running. She completed 14 Half Marathons and numerous 5K and 10K races, each ending with a photograph of her newly earned medal and a smile that could fill a room.
Laces for Lisa proudly benefits the following organizations:
MADD- Mothers Against Drunk Driving The mission of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes and prevent underage drinking. Lisa was killed by an impaired driver as she was returning home from work. In 2017, Laces for Lisa donated $2,000 to the MADD 5k Walk, which helped them reach their goal and spread awareness. Lisa’s Acts of Caring at Community Hospital East Lisa worked in the Progressive Care Unit at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis. She loved doing little acts of kindness for others. This fund was established to continue the acts of caring for patients and staff that Lisa would have done. Lisa's cart provides cards for patients who may have a special occasion while at the hospital and small recognitions for patients or staff. The fund has also purchased books for "baby cuddlers" to read to special care infants while being held and rocked. Development of Lisa’s Fitness Trail at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lafayette IN A faith and fitness trail for the community is being built on the grounds of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lafayette Indiana. Merom Church Camp Merom Church Camp and Retreat is located south of Terre Haute, IN on the Illinois border. At Merom, their goal is to help kids of all ages learn to explore their faith through various ways including outdoor activities, stage production, reflection, worship, food, fun and fellowship. Lisa started attending Merom at age 12 and loved her time there. She served on its board of directors so others could have those same experiences in the future
